An Hour with a C.E.O

On 4th February,2012 we got an appointment to meet Mr. Manavendra Gokhale C.E.O Of Raj Oil Mills Ltd..(a company listed on the Indian Stock Exchange). After narrating him about the project he started asking us questions to know about our ability and understandinng of Management subjects learnt in our b-school so that everyone would be at par when he starts explaining the business insights of running the company. When Mr.Gokhale started we were stunned by his knowledge and how his wide experience has helped him to reach the level of C.E.O at such an early stage of life and on a lighter note how being a C.E.O makes him a lonely person in the office as for his managers he is the BOSS and for him The Board of Directors are the BOSS and there is always as a BOSS and Sub-ordinate kind of atmosphere which he has to deal with.Moving on, Mr.Gokhale had a great sense of story telling which he incorporated while he shared his experience of working and how working smart and hard is important. It was a great experience and thanks to Swapnil we got the opportunity to meet such an influential person.

    1. yes he really enjoys being a C.E.O and was happy and cheerful as well. The most important thing is that he became a C.E.O at the age of 29 which is truly amazing. If you want any other info be free to ask.

  2. Hi thanks for your comment. I think 29 is amazing!! Can you tell me more about the pressure he faces as CEO. Since it is listed company there will be lot of market pressure to give good performance. How he handles pressure? Did he talk about mistakes he made and his learning process. any other info you can add also will be great! Thanks again.

  3. My pleasure..I shall upload the video we shot when we got to interview him.One thing which he mentioned was that during the early stage of his career he used to work on Saturday's and Sunday's and used to rarely take a holiday which now he thinks that he should have enjoyed those days more rather than working so hard.
